Today I am going to share my favorite holiday bakery recipe – Peppermint Christmas Brownies. There is something so magical about the aroma of freshly baked brownies, extra chocolatey, and a hint of peppermint. It is the perfect combination treat to share with family and friends. Tools You Will Need

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • 9×13 baking dish
  • Whisk or electric mixer

How to Make Christmas Brownies

Make the box of fudge brownies according to the directions.

Allow the brownies to cool completely.

Make the peppermint frosting and spread over the brownies. Allow to harden and cool.

Make the chocolate topping and spread over the peppermint frosting.

Cool the brownies, cut and enjoy!

These Christmas brownies are very rich, and it is definitely worth indulging in!

Can you Freeze Christmas Brownies?

Yes, you can freeze Christmas Brownies! In fact, cold or frozen are my favorite ways to enjoy these delicious chocolatey brownies!

I do want to note that I always make a double batch of these brownies and bake in a 1/2 sheet baking pan. It is so worth having extra in the freezer!

Christmas Brownies

Equipment

  • 9×13 Dish If double batch, use a 1/2 sheet Baking pan
  • large mixing bowl
  • Hand Mixer or Whisk

Ingredients
  

Brownies

  • 1 box Fudge Brownies

Frosting

  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Butter melted
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Peppermint Extract
  • 5-10 drops Green Food Coloring OPTIONAL

Chocolate Topping

  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips Semi-Sweet
  • 3 tbsp butter

Instructions
 

Brownies

  • Make box of brownies according to the box instructions
  • Allow to cool completely

Frosting

  • Mix together frosting ingredients until a good spreading consistency.
  • Spread over brownies – and allow to cool/ harden before the next step.

Chocolate Topping

  • Start melting butter first and then add chocolate chips. Melt together and then pour on top of frosting.
  • Cool brownies completely, cut and enjoy!

Notes

I usually make a double batch of these brownies and bake in a 1/2 size baking sheet.
In my opinion, these are best served cold or even frozen!
