One Room Challenge Master Bedroom Week 1

It is Week One of the One Room Challenge! After signing up months ago, and with delays to the ORC this spring, this is the week that I can finally share with you the plans and before pictures of our Master Bedroom.
The One Room Challenge is a biannual event where a group of bloggers share a design process of a room in 6-8 weeks. There are twenty designers that where picked to share their progress on Wednesdays. And the guest participants will share their progress on Thursdays (that is me!)
You may or may not know, that our home is a new build log home that we built and designed ourselves. We moved in our home in October 2018 and while I have focused on decorating the main living areas, I have done literally nothing to the bedrooms. So, it was a no brainer to choose our Master Bedroom for the One Room Challenge.
Master Bedroom (Before)
Our home is full of unique character and our master bedroom does not reflect that same wow factor and character.

More Before Photos
This wall behind the bed will be a dark green to create a statement wall. This will add a dramatic wow factor to this master bedroom.
Our everyday bedding. While it is extremely cozy, it is not the vision that I have for this master bedroom refresh. The bedding that I envision is more a neutral feel in order to let the wall and headboard be the focal point of this space.
The office space has already had a slight refresh, but I would like it to flow with the rest of the master bedroom.
Our dressers. The story behind these just warms my heart. We found these in the local newspaper classifieds nearly ten years ago. The lady who was selling them, told us that she and her husband purchased these as newlyweds (50+ years ago) and was so happy to be selling them to us, as almost newlyweds. They have been well loved, and had water marks on the tops when we got them. My plan is to sand and stain the top drawers and paint the rest of the dresser. I am planning on making chalk paint with paint that I have on hand, and making this project as budget friendly as possible.
I am looking forward to participating in the One Room Challenge this season and sharing my ideas and projects to make this master bedroom a space we love.
