5 Budget-Friendly Ways for a Cozy Bedroom
Warm and Cozy Bedroom Ideas
What makes a bedroom cozy to you? Is it the color scheme? Or the bedding and pillows? Or maybe it is the rug?
Everyone has a different idea of what makes a bedroom cozy to them. I want to share my top five budget-friendly ways to make a cozy bedroom.

Cozy Bedding and Throws
The first thing I think about in a cozy bedroom is the bedding.
A fluffy comforter with a fuzzy blanket, comfortable sheets, and a heated mattress pad. And of course some top notch pillows to make your sleep the best it can be.
Doesn’t that sound like a great way to sleep? And of course, you need a comfortable mattress. I, unfortunately, don’t have a recommendation at this time, as we will be in the market for a new mattress sooner rather than later. (so if you have any recommendations, leave a comment below! 😉)
I have really been loving the mixing of patterns, especially in bedding. It can add a beautiful visual in a small space. This can be done by having a striped comforter, with neutral sheets and throw, and adding a patterned pillowcase.
But one thing that makes our bed extra cozy especially in the Michigan winter is our heated mattress pad. There is just something about crawling into a heated bed that is taking the cozy bedroom to the next level!
Blanket throws are another great layer of coziness to add to a bedroom. Some of my favorite places to shop for these blanket throws are Homegoods, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls. The selections are usually excellent and you can find some unique finds!
Here are a few perfect examples of types of throw blankets that are budget-friendly.

Adding a rug to your bedroom is a great way to add another level of coziness.
A rug can help tie in a color scheme, add a neutral or add more color into your bedroom. We have a rug placed over the carpet, and I think it ties all the colors in very nicely.
One of my favorite places to buy rugs is Rugs USA. They tend to have frequent sales, and you can get rugs at a great price!

Adding decor to your bedroom can add a level of calm.
Simple botanical prints, a real (or faux) plant, some books, and lighting can really tie the space together.
Etsy is one of my favorite places to find some great printables at a reasonable price. There are so many styles and combinations that you can choose from.

Choosing a color for your bedroom can be a bit daunting. To be honest, choosing colors in general can be a big job! I recommend finding some inspiration that you love.
Do you love a dark and moody bedroom? Or a light and neutral room?
Do you want a feature wall or the same color throughout the whole space?
My favorite spaces to look for inspiration are Pinterest (follow Linen and Logs for inspiration!) and Instagram (follow along here).
Adding Wood Elements
Adding wood to the space helps bring in the warmth.
No matter what color scheme you choose to go with, adding wood can add an extra layer of warmth to your space. And, I don’t mean adding more blankets!
This can be done by adding wood elements in the headboard, night tables, dressers or just in the decor. You can also add siting area if space allows and add some wood elements in that space.
Bedroom Coziness
Adding coziness to your bedroom, children’s room, or guest room is all done by using these same elements and tips. By buying new, repurposing, making, or DIY’ing to fit your style (and budget!), you can make a room as cozy as you would like.
